TRAILER: Jay-Z's "Brooklyn We Go Hard" Powers Inspirational "42" Film

As if you needed another reason why so many people are flocking to Brooklyn, the new trailer for 42 presents Jackie Robinson like you've never seen him before.

Warner Bros. has been working on this power telling of the Brooklyn Dodgers great for awhile now. The hype became so infectious that President Barack Obama wanted to check out the set over the summer. For the third time since May, the studio has used Jay-Z's most recent hits to market one of its period pieces. 42 follows in the footsteps of The Gangster Squad (which featured "Oh My God") and The Great Gatsby ("No Church in the Wild"), and we may be witnessing an interesting side-hustle developing for Hova.

Written and directed by Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential), the historical biopic recounts the tale of Jackie Robinson and his difficult journey to becoming the first African American baseball player to reach the major leagues. Chadwick Boseman brings his fresh faced talents to the big screen as Robinson, and if the trailer is any indication, he is a great choice! There are a lot of believable shots in this clip, which you can see for yourself below, and Boseman spectacularly shines alongside Nicole Beharie (American Violet).

Leave your thoughts in the comment section below; 42 looks awesome and also features Harrison Ford as Branch Rickey, the Brooklyn Dodgers executive who signed Robinson, Lucas Black, John C. McGinley, Christopher Meloni and more.

The film arrives in theaters on April 13, 2013 — just in time for your favorite ball teams home opener.
