18 year old Trevor Dahl has been playing music for years. He first picked up a guitar as a young teen and wanted to write songs to impress girls. Well, he’s successfully put out his first album a while back entitled “Nothing to Something” which featured “Oh Darling” with Cady Groves that propelled him into teen heart throb central. Now, he’s on to his next project: “The Patience E.P.” which’ll be released on January 3rd, 2012.
The single off the album, “Patience” is just what you’d expect it to be. Poppy, sappy lyrics with a bit of a bounce to the acoustic vibe that caters straight into the heart strings of young teen girls everywhere. The E.P. in itself is solid enough, if you’re a 14 year old teeny bopper. Dahl has a lot of potential and talent to become a great singer/songwriter, but the problem he may run into is the same one that Teddy Geiger ran into back when he came out with his hit “Confidence.” He was easily forgotten and blended into the wallpaper.
The Patience E.P. doesn’t necessarily make Dahl stand out, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction.
Album Rating:
