Concert Review: Stalley at the El Rey

Stalley Shares His Savage Journey In LA

Since joining the hottest label out (MMG), Stalley really has been popping up everywhere. He stopped in LA to share his Savage Journey and definitely didn’t disappoint. His latest mixtape entitled “The Savage Journey To The American Dream” surely didn’t receive as much acclaim as it deserved. There are a lot of joints on that tape that could easily be included in everyone’s daily music rotation (Make It Home, BCGMMG, etc.). Stalley performed the majority of the songs from the tape and even performed his verse off Curren$y’s underground smash, Address. Producer/rapper Chuck Inglish (of the Cool Kids) came out and blessed the stage as Stalley performed “Party Heart” off Ross’ Rich Forever” tape. Stalley also shared the story of how he gave “Party Heart” to Ross and how he was courted to join MMG.

Stalley explained that Ross respected his independent movement but told him that MMG was the right fit for him “Because I know you’re a superstar”. Ross just might be right. Stalley puts on a great live show and truthfully has always been a skillful but underrated rapper. Now it seems that he finally has the right backing to really leave his mark on the game. MMG has proven to be the right vehicle for Meek Mill and Wale. Stalley only makes them more versatile. He will prove to be a great acquisition for the MMG camp as the masses get a real chance to hear more of his material.
